MEDIA RELEASE: PUBLICATION OF SUPPLEMENTARY VOTERS’ ROLLS FOR INSPECTION
Members of the public and all stakeholders are informed that the Secretary has, in accordance with Section 14(b) of the Electoral Act, appointed the period 20th April to 10th May 2026 (both dates inclusive) as the inspection period for the supplementary voters’ rolls compiled from the registration exercises conducted from 12th January to 13th February 2026 and 18th February to 3rd March 2026 in the affected constituencies.
Copies of the rolls will be availed for inspection at the office of the Secretary to the Commission, as well as those of District Commissioners, Council Secretaries/Town Clerks and Chief Elections Officers/Principal Elections Officers around the country.
Similarly, for the convenience of the voters, the Commission will provide copies of Polling Districts (Council Wards) rolls at some dikgotla in each constituency for Batswana residing there to have an opportunity to participate effectively in this critical process.
It is also important to note that the Commission has Nine Hunderd and Twelve (912) voters validly registered in these rolls, spread across 60 constituencies. There are also Thirty-Two (32) voters whose registrations were rejected mainly because they were already registered. It is to be noted that Kgatleng East Constituency did not register any voters during the two supplementary voters’ registration exercises.
Consequently, all Batswana who registered during the two supplementary voters’ registration exercises, are advised to visit the places where the rolls will be placed for inspection. It is the voter’s responsibility to inspect the rolls to ensure that their registration is valid.
In accordance with Section 14 of the Electoral Act, an appropriate notice regarding publication of the rolls for inspection by members of the public will be issued by the Secretary in the Government Gazette.
Lastly, the Commission advises all its stakeholders and members of the public to familiarize themselves with Sections 16 and 18 of the Electoral Act which deal specifically with inspection of the rolls and processing of objections in the same rolls respectively.
For any clarifications, please contact the Public Relations Office on 3612400.
Thank you.
